Management's dilemma
Which is the greater moral obligation of management: their responsibility toward stockholders or their obligation for the welfare of their employees. Interesting question.
That is a difficult dilemma (stewardship vs kindness), and one that most companies can't get the right balance on.

maybe this is an insight into determining which kind of business would be the best - where the two can be inclusive.
