Glenda Farrell and Barton MacLane in the Torchy Blane movies

There were several actor/actress duos who had a great chemistry in portraying married or sweetheart couples in mystery or detective movies. Farrell and MacLane worked very well together, but it was in a strange manner. Theirs was at times an adversarial relationship, she being a nosy reporter and he a police officer. However, they managed to stay sweet on each other despite the perpetual disturbances.
