Adulation
Does adulation hinder performance? Performers who become very famous - are they hindered in their subsequent performances because of the high level of distraction and lowered motivation that fame brings?
Maybe since they are already famous maybe they don't feel the pressure to need to get everyone to like them so they slack off a little? What is your answer to your question?
I don't know. There are a lot of famous performers who remained very good late into life. Of course, there are others who did not improve much after a certain point.
