Radio shows always emphasized that their star was a "hard-boiled" detective. Who might have been some examples of the non-hard-boiled sort? Well, maybe Sherlock Holmes, Hercule Poirot, definitely Philo Vance and Nero Wolfe.

ha Nero Wolfe. That most absolutely was NOT a hard boiled man. At least not the way they describe him. ha funny
