Irene Ryan reported on the Rudy Vallee radio show that Adolph Menjou had hired a
contractor to build the Villa Vallee Bowl, a stadium on Rudy Vallee’s front
lawn that would be large enough to accommodate a conference of the Big Three – Sydney
Greenstreet, Oliver Hardy and Edward Arnold.
