Real life Tarzan?

Edgar Rice Burroughs' fictional character was John Clayton, Viscount Greystoke.  There actually was a Lord Greystoke. Sir Ralph de Greystoke, 1st Lord Greystoke died in 1323. The title lasted until 1569.
