Lyndol and I were discussing this the other day in relation to marriages. We decided a marriage becomes mature when each participant quits looking for what they can get out of it, and starts looking for what they can put into it; when the question is no longer "what do I need?" but rather "what do they need?". When what we ought to do becomes our focus it also becomes our joy.

Not that we have reached this pinnacle..just to be clear. But I think it is a goal worth striving for.
