The limits of self-discipline

Perhaps all of us need to be more self-disciplined. The exceptions to that statement would be so rare as to be virtually zero. Indeed, where sin is concerned, we need to strive absolutely for self-discipline, without exceptions. There is a limit, however, to self-discipline or self-control. There is a time to mourn. If we make ourselves into such a machine that we cannot mourn and rejoice, then we have carried discipline too far. Perhaps "too far" is not the right term; perhaps "into the wrong channel" would be more correct.
