Gordon Shirreffs books for boys
The biggest part of the output of author Shirreffs was Western novels. However, he did write several novels about a pair of submariners. Several years ago I found one in our local library and enjoyed it so much that I tracked down the others in that series. I highly recommend them for boys (or anyone else, for that matter).
