Inspector Jervis - another notable detective
Jervis was the fictional invention of Johnny Pearce, the godson of Frederick Altamont Corwallis Twistleton, 5th Earl of Ickenham. Sadly, the novels depicting his exploits do not appear to have been best-sellers. He appears in the novel Cocktail Time, by Sir Pelham (P. G.) Wodehouse.
