Richard Greene stars as a reporter who is a first-hand witness to the British retreat from Dunkirk. (Greene starred as Robin Hood in the British TV series.) He returns to England to his job, and gets hooked up with a rookie reporter (Valerie Hobson). They attend a meeting of pacifists where she hopes to get a story. Her story is used and his is canned by a government agency, but he continues to blast away in print despite wholesale censorship of his articles. Finally the subversive organization is exposed. This is a fairly typical example of the "morale-booster" genre during this period.
