Several years ago I was listening to a public radio station and they played a spot about a very unique composition. Rather than relate the story here, I will give the LINK to the Wikipedia article about it. Needless to say, it is one of the more unique classical compositions you will ever hear, and certainly a remarkable story behind it.
The composition itself is not particularly noteworthy, limited as it is by the idea behind it. However, in all the years since that, I have remembered the old man's song, and so I can personally attest to the emotional power behind the little tune.
