One of my wife’s favorite actors is Eddie Bracken. As Jack Benny always insisted on being introduced, he was a “star of stage, screen and radio.” He was born in Queens, New York, and had a wonderful accent. He appeared in movies regularly from 1940 to 1953. He and his wife, Connie, were married 63 years. She died three months before he did. They had five children.
Two of my favorite Bracken movies are “Caught in the Draft” (1941) with Bob Hope and Dorothy Lamour, and “Hold That Blonde” (1945) with Veronica Lake.
