Sprechstimme

Of all the stupid things that classical composers ever came up with, this has to be one of the worst. Arnold Schoenberg was mainly "credited" for its development. A definition of sprechstimme is "A form of dramatic declamation between singing and speaking, in which the speaker uses lilt and rhythm but not precise pitches."
