John Scott Trotter

Among other things, he was the musical director for the Bing Crosby radio show. He was a large man, weighing 300 pounds at one point, and that allowed him to be the object of jokes on the program, just as Don Wilson was on the Jack Benny program. His on-the-air personna was very congenial. He appeared in several movies, including Rhythm on the River, starring Mary Martin and Crosby.
